About Us

Our Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats

We are finding that having a small herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats is everything people say it is. They have mild personalities and are easy to manage. Their milk is rich and extremely delicious. Our children can milk them and manage them entirely on their own but I work with them every day too because I enjoy being around them so much. We use their milk as drinking milk and make a simple, satisfying batch of feta cheese weekly.

We treat our Nigerians just like our Dutch Belted cows. They have free pasture whenever appropriate, well water, high quality minerals, alfalfa hay and lots of interaction with our family. The kids were dam raised for several weeks and then fed by bottle so they got the early bonding and colostrums from mom but also have the connection to humans that makes them extra fun to be around.

We are getting pictures of our little Nigerian herd up as we can. Being goats, they don't tend to stand still so we get photos as we can.

Ramone is the registered buck of our herd. He has a really engaging personality which makes us smile every day. He shows how great Nigerians are at being pets as he is very easy to manage and is just plain fun. We bought him from a local alpaca farm here in Floyd County.

Jack Jack is our first buckling from Ramone and Ivy. He is naturally polled (i.e does not grow horns) and has beautiful coloration. He is remarkably sturdy and, like his daddy,  very personable.

Marta and her sister, Gretel, are out of Ramone and Iris. They match each other almost exactly and make a beautiful pair. They too are polled.

SOLD

Gretel has that white ankle bracelet there on her right leg. That is how I tell them apart.

SOLD

Marta and Gretel - the matching pair.

Snickerdoodle is out of Ramone and Maggie May. She has lovely coloring and a sweet, gentle personality. One of my daughters tells me that she especially likes to be held.

SOLD

Maggie is currently giving milk after delivering Snickerdoodle in late April. She is our most mature goat, a good mother, generally easy to manage and very cooperative about being milked..
