Herbs and Herbalism
Bulk Herb Store - Great selection of bulk herbs, books, remedies, and articles. i love this site. Even though it contains a great deal of information, it is peaceful and somehow really conveys the feeling that you too can live in this natural way. Their special formulas are drawn from good old fashioned American herbalism and are very effective. We are drinking their Doctor Cinnamon tea here lately and benefiting from its mind clearing and blood sugar stabilizing properties. There is also a wonderful list of herbs to cook with and why under Cooking with Herbs. Crimson Sage Medicinal Plants Nursery - USDA Certified Organically Grown Medicinal Plant starts for the herbal garden and herbalists. Very high quality. Their offerings also include rare medicinal herbs from the Ayurvedic, Chinese, Native American and European healing traditions. Their plants are of such high quality that they have been used in several university research gardens and come highly recommended by practicing herbalists. Check out the great Links page too. Mary's Herbs - I have studied herbalism for years, read many books and looked at many sites. Within the first 10 minutes of glancing through pages here, I gleaned a couple of key pieces of information that were new to me. Dr. Mary Reed (Gates) CNHP, MH, ND is an naturopath/herbalist and iridologist who has faced major health challenges of her own. Within this site, she provides diagrams and explanations, online health assessments and iridology consults as well as herbal products for sale. Her desire to help really comes through. Sweet Hollow Farm - This family farm in Tennessee grows their own herbs and makes herbal salves, teas and soaps for sale with really nice recipes developed there on the farm. Cheri travels the area giving talks on creating a more natural and healthy lifestyle. She also offers an inexpensive online course in medicinal herbs through which she personally mentors each student. Cheri also maintains a blog full of information and large color photos of herbs and things here.
